Global warming dominates the headlines, the radio, and the 6 o’clock news and the majority of news reports blame human pollution for climate change. No one seems to cover the other side of the story. The earth’s temperature is rising right now. There is evidence everywhere. Glaciers are melting. Changing weather patterns result in more severe storms. The oceans are rising. But not all scientists blame human action for climate change. Some believe that the earth runs on a natural 1500-year climate cycle caused by sunspots. Scientists theorize that sunspots emit cosmic rays causing more clouds to form on the troposphere. These clouds coat the earth’s surface like a blanket and allow less heat to escape. Therefore, more solar energy and sunspots result in a warmer planet. When scientists compared a graph of solar activity over the past thousand years to the earth’s temperature over the same period of time, the solar activity and temperature were more closely linked than carbon dioxide emissions and temperature. People are quick to point out that oil companies have funded many of the papers that prove pollution is not responsible for global warming. However, this information cannot be disregarded for its bias, if its competitors’ biases are not being considered. Alternate theories explaining the cause of climate change are not covered in the media because too many people profit from people believing they cause global warming. People working in the media and especially the people that they interview are all employed by the myth of global warming. For example, United Nations helped form the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to find the truth about global warming. Unfortunately, many of the top scientists quit this panel when any evidence found contrary to the popular beliefs that pollution causes climate change was disregarded. Strangely enough, though, their names still appear on the paper. I challenge you to see through the media and the scientific reports to find the truth, before making your decision on the cause of climate change.
